Computing Curriculum

Computing is an integral part of learning at St Gabriel’s.  ICT skills underpin subjects across the curriculum and these skills are built on from Nursery, up through to Year 6.  The Computing curriculum covers three strands: Computer Science, Information Technology and Digital Literacy.  During their time in our school, children have the opportunity to explore various exciting Computing projects such as:

  • Controlling devices such as remote control cars
  • Creating digital art and music
  • Explore digital photography and edit photographs
  • Interrogating and handling, databases and branching databases
  • Creating an e-book
  • Creating PowerPoints with slide transitions and animation
  • Using Green Screen technology to create animation and movies
  • Creating computer games
  • Creating 3D video games
  • Budgeting with spreadsheets and formulae
  • Web Design

E-Safety is an important part of our school curriculum and is taught and embedded throughout school, both in class and assemblies.
