At St Gabriel’s Art and Design and Technology are taught as cross curricular and links are made with History, Geography and Science.
The subjects are practically based and encourage children to be creative and innovative. Pupils are taught to develop, plan and communicate their ideas by designing and making. Children have the opportunity to work with a variety of tools, equipment, materials and components. After completing their task, pupils evaluate their work.
Children have the opportunity to learn about famous inventors and artists and use their work as examples and stimuli for their own projects.
We believe that through Design Technology, children develop an enterprising attitude to problem solving in real life contexts, a skill that will hopefully equip them for the future.
